Help center Getting started Setting up your account

Setting up your account

After signing up, there are three things worth doing right away.

1. Verify your email

When you register, we send a verification email with a click-through link. Until you click it, some features are limited (you can't share, you can't list on the marketplace, the password-reset email won't be sent).

If the email didn't arrive after a couple of minutes, check spam. If still nothing, request a new verification email from your profile page.

If your email address itself is wrong, see Changing your email or password.

2. Turn on two-factor authentication

Strongly recommended, especially if you'll be storing serial numbers, purchase prices, or photos that matter for insurance claims.

ItemTrack uses TOTP (the standard six-digit code that an authenticator app generates every 30 seconds). Compatible apps include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, Bitwarden, Authy, and many others.

Setup takes about a minute:

  1. Go to your profile page.
  2. Find the Two-factor authentication section and click Enable.
  3. Scan the QR Label that appears with your authenticator app.
  4. Type the six-digit code from the app to confirm.

See Two-factor authentication for more.

3. Save your recovery codes

When you turn on 2FA, we show you ten one-time recovery codes. Each one works exactly once and lets you sign in without your authenticator. Save them somewhere outside the app — a password manager, a paper note in a drawer, the back of your address book. Anywhere except inside ItemTrack itself, because if you lose access to ItemTrack you can't pull the codes out.

If you lose both your phone and your recovery codes, the only way back into the account is the emergency password reset, which requires server access — usually a support request.

A note about plans

You start on the Personal tier with limits on the number of QR Labels and photos. If you're documenting a whole house or a B2B operation, the pricing page lists what each tier includes. You can upgrade later — your data carries over, no migration needed.

Choosing your language

ItemTrack supports five languages: English, Dutch, German, French, and Spanish. The app auto-detects from your browser the first time you visit. To change it manually, use the language switcher in the top-right corner of any page.

What's next

If you haven't yet done the 10-minute quick start, do that now — you'll learn the full create-print-scan cycle in one room.
